    Kinky Friedman

    While not born in Texas, Kinky Friedman moved to Texas as a child, graduated from high school in the Austin area and went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin. Once completing his undergraduate career, Friedman served two years in the Peace Corps in Borneo.

    He has been a writer, singer, songwriter, humorist, politician, and a columnist for Texas Monthly magazine. He still lives in the Austin area on his Echo Hill Ranch and was the founder of the Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch which saves abandoned, mistreated, and abused animals from euthanasia.

    In 2006, Kinky was one of two independent candidates for the governor's race. He received 12.6% of the vote and finished fourth overall.

    Scott McClellan

    Scott McClellan was born and raised in Austin and has a long history in Texas politics. He has managed a number of his mother's campaigns for Texas Comptroller and was Chief of Staff to a Texas Senator before becoming President George W. Bush's press secretary in 2003.

    McClellan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the author of the controversial book What Happened, about the Bush presidency.

    Lance Armstrong

    Lance Armstrong was born in the Dallas area in the early 1970s. He grew up in Dallas and then moved to Austin as soon as possible afterwards. He currently owns a house in the city and a ranch outside of the city and can be seen biking in the Texas Hill Country.

    A record 7 time winner of the Tour de France, Armstrong is well known for surviving cancer and promoting his Livestrong charity. In September of 2008, Lance Armstrong announced that he would return to the world or professional cycling.
