Clear Eyes, Good Search, Can’t Lose

Most home searches are high-energy experiences as buyers envision specifics and have a hard time with anything that appears outside of their criteria match and Austin home searches are no different in that regard. With a wide range of housing styles from new builds in larger developments to some of the more character oriented houses of the 1950′s and 60′s – there is definitely an expanse of preference. When searching for a home it’s important to prioritize your purpose. Is this an investment property – do you see yourself living here for a short period of time and then leasing or selling in an attempt to net a profit? Is this a long term investment – have you found the house you plan on dropping anchor in for the next 10-15 years? Whatever the reason for the purchase, keep the focus on the main principles of why you are performing this home search in the first place. Generally speaking most home searches (again a Austin home search is no different) the idea of buying something that doesn’t immediately wow you is incomprehensible – but consider the priorities at hand and know that every possible problem has a solution. Work with your  Austin Realtor and discuss every avenue from renovations to expansions before crossing a potentially valuable property off your list. If the bones are there, the area is right and a high percentage of your priorities are met – don’t let the blue carpet get in the way of buying a perfect fit.
