Which government agency oversees Texas real estate?

April 15th, 2010 · No Comments

The Texas Real Estate Commission is the Texas governmental agency that oversees real estate practices. The commission is headed by nine members who are appointed by the governor and approved by Congress. Each member serves a six-year term.

The TREC oversees a variety of Texas real estate areas, including real estate brokers, salespeople, and inspectors. It also regulates residential service companies and timeshare developers.

If you have questions about how the TREC may affect your real estate purchase or sale, contact the Austin Real Estate company of Carvajal Group at 512-410-7770.
