Austin sees lower real estate prices in June

June 18th, 2010 · No Comments

June is the month that most Austin properties drop the most. However, prices aren’t looking to drop quite as much this June as they did last June. Austin was, last June, one of the best cities in the country in improving housing price depreciation. A 2009 report stated that 20 percent fewer sellers cut their listing price than in other cities in the United States. The report contained data from over 9,000 home listings.

Although Austin hasn’t increased its amount of reduced price listings from last year, three Texas cities have. The percentage of listings that lowered prices in June in Arlington is 44 percent, and in Houston and Fort Worth, it is 25 percent.
