Texas took the top spot on CNBC’s survey of the top states for business. According to the New York Daily News, “States are judged on 10 categories, with cost of doing business weighted heaviest. Other factors include education, quality of life and transportation.”
Texas owns to number one position because it has remained strong despite the economic climate. It has the most Fortune 500 Companies, and, according to NY Daily News, the “15th largest economy in the world, larger than that of all the Scandinavian countries combined.”
The state is credited with dodging the real estate slump, with cities like Dallas still building and growing.
