Texas misses upswing in housing prices

July 30th, 2010

Texas, unlike other states such as Florida and California, has missed the huge rising in home prices.

In recent years, Texas has managed to maintain a steady growth rate with only a few dips every so often. California house prices raised at a rate of 16 times more than the prices in Texas. As a result of this, the housing prices showed less of a decline in Texas.

Some analysts feel that restrictions on land and less build able land are the reason for the higher prices, but it would not be the only answer. In a report about the top 20 cities with highest foreclosure rates, Texas had no cities on the list.
