Bank of America resumes some foreclosures

October 19th, 2010

Bank of America is ready to resume foreclosure proceedings, but not in Texas.

It is now two weeks since BofA suspended foreclosure filings at the request of the government in the wake of a national mortgage mess.

Now the bank is ready to refile foreclosures on more than 100,000 homes in 23 different states.

BofA stated on their website that they intend to file for court approval of resumption of activity on October 25. In states like Texas, where judges are not able to sign off on foreclosures, the bank must wait to resume foreclosing.
