Extra $7M to Austin for Energy Projects

March 27th, 2009

Austin, TX has already been promised $20 million as part of a federal stimulus package. Now another $7 million is being granted for use in energy efficiency projects. While it is still up in the air as to how the city will allocate the money, it is very possible that some of it will go to energy projects for housing.

Currently, there are houses being built “green” in Austin in a variety of ways. This extra money could help to further the market of “green” housing. Other possibilities for the money include installing solar panels along highways for more energy.
