Austin Home Sellers Must Do Energy Audit of Home

May 27th, 2009

Individuals who will be selling a home that is older than 10 years or more will have to conduct an energy audit before selling the house.

The energy audit  is meant to allow individuals to become more aware of the energy that a home uses.  It is also to encourage energy conservation.  Although no action is required after an audit if a home is considered inefficient, it is good information to know for individuals who may be purchasing the home.

Some individuals have expressed disapproval with the energy audit, claiming that it may hurt home sales in an already bad market.
