Balcones Real Estate
The Balcones area is found just off Highway 183, nestled in the quiet Northwest part of Austin. Spacious lots, homes, and apartments are just a few of the factors which make Balcones real estate some of the most sought after in Austin; properties are usually sold only days after hitting the market.Balcones consists of several neighborhoods, including Balcones Woods and Balcones Oaks, in addition to apartment complexes such as the Balcones Club apartments. In general, the area is characterized by mature trees, quiet streets, and cul-de-sacs.
One key benefit of living in the Balcones area is convenience. Entertainment, shopping, and recreational destinations are only short distances away. Balcones residents have easy access to the variety of shops at the nearby Arboretum area and the relatively new Lakeline Mall. Furthermore, because the area is so close to major highways, commutes to work are made much easier. For recreation, individual neighborhoods also have their own community centers, common areas, and recreational facilities. In addition, the Balcones Country Club not far from Highway 183 offers members two golf courses, the original 9-hole Balcones course, and the newer 18-hole Spicewood Golf course.
Families considering Balcones real estate will enjoy the excellent educational opportunities available in the Round Rock Independent School District. Several schools in the Round Rock ISD have been named Presidential Blue Ribbon Schools, a distinction not easily attained.
